Week beginning Monday, 13th July

This week we will be completing our Summer 2 Enquiry Theme ‘How can History tell a story of the past?’.  We will put the finishing touches to our History information booklet and complete our art by creating a piece of artwork that combines different artistic techniques.  

We will also take part in a transition workshop and have a play on the junior playground as part of our transition activities getting ready for Y3. 

In English, we will revise how to use past and present tense. The children will retell some of the story from the part where Billy met the Minpins, using the past tense. They will also compare past and present tense verbs. The children will also revise apostrophes for possession. Children will create their own single-clause statements in the present tense using possessive apostrophes. For example, the bird’s wings are flapping.
