Week beginning Monday, 2nd February

In Maths, we will continue multiplication and division and learn to share objects into equal groups. Children will be able to make the link so that the greater the number they are dividing by, the smaller the answer. We will also begin to learn the two times table, using manipulatives to encourage the children to count in twos. 

In our Enquiry Theme, we will be learning about the Maasai people and their lifestyle in Kenya. In Art we will start our paintings in the style of Edward Tingatinga. 

In English, we will continue to read The Bear and the Piano. The children will use the text and illustrations to infer the bear’s feelings at different points in the book. The children will also learn about progressive verbs including identifying rules for when there needs to be a change to a root verb.
