Week beginning Monday, 2nd March

Maths 
We will be learning how to count objects more efficiently by grouping them into tens and ones. This will help us count larger amounts more quickly and accurately. 

English 
We will be continuing to develop our reading and writing skills through shared reading, phonics, and sentence writing activities based around our book ‘Astro Girl’.  

Computing 
We will carry on learning how to use simple code to move objects. The children will practise giving clear instructions to make objects move in different directions. 

Design and Technology  
We will be exploring different materials and thinking about their properties. The children will then use what they have learned to design their own space rocket. 

History 
We will be learning about the first animals that went into space, including fruit flies, Laika the dog, and monkeys. We will use library books to help us find out more about these important events in the history of space exploration. 

Religious Education  
We will be learning to name key objects found in a church and beginning to suggest meanings for some Christian symbols.
