Week beginning Monday, 2nd November

In English we will be starting a new text ‘Tadpole’s Promise’. We will be learning how to use apostrophes for possession and apostrophes for simple contractions. 

In phonics we will be continuing with our phase 5 sounds, au, ey, a-e, e-e. 

Our new Enquiry Theme is ‘What makes our locality amazing?’. We will be learning about WW1 and what life was like for the soldiers in the trenches.  We will learn that November 11th is known as Remembrance Day and learn about how Remembrance Day is marked in Southwell and across the country. 

In maths we will be continuing our addition and subtraction, working on number bonds to 10 and fact families.
